The Premium Edition contains languages, libraries, files and applications used to compile other programs from source code, contains several more applications to everyday use and  more drivers and packages needed to improve hardware support, like sane, gutenprint, hpjis, ndiswrapper, slmodem and more.

The Premium offers the estability of Slackware, with a great power of costumization where you can control everything about the system in a very simple and fast way. The main resources of the livecd are still preserved and you can count on more because it has two times the original size of GoblinX.

From original GoblinX all features are remained, like five windows managers, applications, cheatcodes, scripts, but the power you have is increased because you can count on the features that make this a very special livecd and also on the features is going to make this a good distro to be installed on your harddisk.

The GoblinX Premium contains about one and half gigabyte(1,5GB) compressed modules by using Squashfs that follow different categories of applications. Each module includes several programs.

Beyond original modules also presented on master edition, it includes some special modules like a_Media.mo which has several multimedia applications, a_Network.mo full of internet/network programs and a_System which includes some important applications for your computer.

Howto Acquire

The GoblinX Premium started a new method to distribute the distro. There are two different ways to get the premium for you. The first one is more indicated to expert users and/or goblins around the world and it's based on the work to build the ISO for yourself. The user has to download the Mini edition, then download all modules he wishes to add and rebuild the ISO by using make_iso.sh command or Liveremaster tool.

The second way is to acquiring an already prepared cdrom from on-disk.com. That second way is indicated if you have difficult to download over 635MB and difficult to build the ISO for yourself, also is indidated to the user who like to contribute with the project because all cdroms selt by On-disk.com gives to GoblinX Project some monetary resources.

Build Premium

The second method to acquiring the premium edition is build you own ISO image. The most experient users and also goblins that already use the distro and know more about its secrets can easily rebuild the ISO without any extra help, but even if you never had used the livecd you can probably create the ISO easily.

In order to build your own edition you just need to download Mini Edition (2.6),  extra modules, and then just use Liveremaster, or you can also mount the mini ISO (mount -t iso9660 -o ro,loop GoblinXMini-2.6.iso /someplace), copy ISO contents to another directory, add modules to the /base folder of the ISO uncompressed, open a console, go inside the ISO uncompressed and use make_iso.sh command (./make_iso.sh GoblinX.iso).

If you want to have all costumizations you need to change z.x.Goblix.mo included in the Mini Edition for the z.x.Premium.mo in our modules repository.

After add all modules you wish, and before rebuild the ISO, you can also edit files like isolinux.cfg to add or change default kernel (boot) parameters, or you can also change the default image showed in prompt login (splash.lss), and more.
