The ISO
image is less than one hundred megabytes of size,
but the micro
edition
contains an excellent source of applications. The small size lets you
easily download and also remaster the ISO file, which makes Micro
Edition more suited for users whose want to have their own costumized
GoblinX.
The
edition also is been used for tests and all applications not based on
QT libraries can be tested first by the micro edition, and these tests
will make more stable the main distro.
It also designed to be our more portable livecd and to
help the development of interfaces that can be used for all windows
managers.
Try out
the micro edition, make it your small Linux LiveCD and save memory, you
can also use a minicd to burn it and some other devices.
The Micro
Edition contains some
of the most often used and praised applications for Linux,
even
though it has less than one hundred megabytes of size. Some of these best
Linux applications included
are: Firefox,
Gcalctool, Totem, Gimp, Hardinfo, Audacious,
Evince and
more.
In comparision with the Mini edition,
the Micro does not include man pages, extra languages, office software
like Abiword and Gnumeric, 3D libraries and applications like Compiz
and Mesa, Pidgin and some other programs. Only english support for now
is available.
Note: GoblinX Micro Edition is
NOT another GoblinX, is just a small edition containing applications
and scripts from the Premium edition. Some features will only
completely work in Premium edition, even though they are included in
Micro.
