What is the login and password?

The default login is root and the default root password is gx01aug04.


I have some problems to use DHCP, what can I do?

Start GoblinX without a firewall.


Where is gcc and headers files?
Gcc, make and other programs used to compile applications are not included in GoblinX ISOs and also the headers. If you download GoblinX Standard, Mini or Micro, you also need to download the a.Includes module which contains the headers, and you can download gcc, make and more in our repositories.

Can I use swap memory?

Yes, if you already has a swap memory partition it will function from the boot. You also can create an file for memory swap with the command fileswap, just typeing fileswap followed of the desired value in any terminal, for example: fileswap 256. The memory swap will improve the income of the computer, however she is slower than the memory RAM.


Why sometimes when I try to logout from Xfce, I cannot see shutdown or reboot options?
These options to reboot or shutdown are part of  Xfce4-session, the session manager of Xfce, if you start Xfce by using startx command you are going to log into Xfce without Xfce4-session, if you wish to use these features you must log into Xfce by using 'go' command.


Why modules use .mo or .lzm extension?

The .mo and .lzm extension area ideas by Slax and as many livecds are build by using linux live, those livecds are able to use modules created for other. You can use Slax modules with GoblinX, so we remain using the same extension. Modules are compressed by SquashFS and you can use another extension if you like.


Can I reboot my machine without have to remove the cdrom?
Yes, you have to boot using 'noeject' parameter. Type at boot prompt: goblinx noeject.


Can I boot GoblinX without mount my hard disk partitions?
Yes, you can boot without mount any harddisk partition, you just need to use a cheatcode.
Type at boot prompt: goblinx nohd.


How can I use Webmount?
Webmount is a protocol to let you use module from the web without download it.
In order to use webmount you need to start Firefox and find a link like: webmount://mirror.live-modules.org/lmo-current/slackware/xap/xgames-0.3-i486-1.lzm
Or change the 'http://' protocol of the web address for 'webmount://'.

How can I get language support to work?
You must select the correct item in the syslinux menu.
